Cookie Policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
The few cookies the site uses, what each one does, and how to control them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar storage in your browser, such as local storage, works the same way and is covered by this policy too.
2. The cookies we use
We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work or that remember a choice you made. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so we do not show a consent banner.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
ezd_area | Remembers the town or area you are browsing, so pages show nearby businesses. | 1 year |
ezd_owner | Keeps a business owner signed in. Signed so it cannot be forged. | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out |
ezd_admin | Keeps our staff signed in to the admin area. Only set for staff. | Up to 30 days, or until sign out |
ezd_test | Turns on test mode for our staff. Only set for staff. | 7 days |
ezd_flash | Shows a one-time message after you submit a form. | 30 seconds |
ezd_theme (local storage) | Remembers whether you picked light or dark mode. | Until you clear it |
3. Third parties
When you check out for a paid plan you are sent to Stripe, which sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud under its own policy. Our pages load a typeface from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address but does not set cookies on our site. A content delivery network in front of the site may set a cookie needed for security.
4. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Browsing still works without them; you will need to pick your area again, and owners will not be able to stay signed in.
5. Changes
If we add a cookie we will list it here and update the date at the top. If we ever add cookies that are not essential, we will ask for your consent first.
